Below are some of the songs we sing at Hogarth.  We may not learn all of them in a given year, but we will learn many of them.

Aa You're Adorable

Always

(The) Bear Went Over the Mountain    First verse only.

Bie Mir Bist Du Schoen   We sing the chorus and one of the verses. The children, however, listen to this Andrew Sisters' version during playtime and are familiar with it. (And often request that I play the CD!)

Clementine  We sing most, but not all of the verses found at this link.

Coconut  We don't actually sing this song, but we do dance to the Harry Nilsson version a lot over the course of the school year.

Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built for Two)   We sing the chorus only, beginning with the line, Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do!

Deep in the Heart of Texas

Do Re Mi  We sing the chorus only.

Down by the Station  We sing slightly different lyrics, but the tune is right on.

Easter Parade

Funiculi Funicula  We sing slightly different lyrics, but the tune is right on.

Go In and Out the Window  Scan down through the lyrics and click on the Midi link to hear the tune.

God Bless America  We sing the chorus only.

Goodnight, Irene  We sing the chorus only and verses not found here.

Happy and You Know It

Happy Days are Here Again  We sing only the chorus.

Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Hokey Pokey

How Much is that Doggie in the Window?

I'm a Little Teapot

I'm Just Wild About Mary (Harry)    We sing only the chorus of the Mary version. (My little dog is named Mary, which is why we learn this song.)  Here's a Harry version by Carmen Miranda that your kids (and you) may enjoy.

I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover

I've Been Working on the Railroad

In the Good Old Summertime   We sing only the last verse.

Irish Lullaby    We sing only the chorus.

Lavender's Blue

Let It Snow   Here's a techno rendering you may enjoy.

Lullaby League/Lollipop Guild    If you click on this link, it should take you to the Wizard of Oz CD at Barnes and Noble where you can listen to most of the song we sing by clicking on titles numbered 11, 12 and 13.  Your little one should get a kick out of listening with you!

Mairzy Doats

My Bonnie

My Gal Sal  This classic American song was written in 1905 by Paul Dresser, one of the Tin Pan Alley composers.  We sing the chorus only. You can see Rita Hayworth singing here on YouTube.

Oh, Susannah

Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'  You can see Gordon MacRae singing here on YouTube.

Oklahoma   We start singing when the lyrics reach the word Oklahoma.

Over the River  We sing the first two and last two verses. We also sing about going to Grandmother's house, not Grandfather's house.

Pirate Chorus  From The Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert and Sullivan.

Polly Wolly Doodle
